Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee responded to comedian Kathy Griffin’s tirade against his daughter, the White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Huckabee made an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom” on Friday and said that Sarah is able to handle the attacks against her because her identity is grounded in something much deeper.
“I don’t think she enjoys it, but Sarah knows who she is,” Huckabee said. “Her faith, her connection to Christ is something that gives her a sense of grounding and centering. She knows her ultimate judge is not gonna be some hideous comedian. Her ultimate judge is the God who created her, who knows her a whole lot better than Kathy Griffin or Samantha Bee.”
He said the left respects women on their side, but reserve “scorn” and vile insults for the women with whom they disagree.
“The people who claim to be champion of women? They’re not,” he said. “They’re champions of the left. It’s a political ideology; it’s not a gender identity at all.”
Huckabee’s comments came after the comedian lashed out at Sarah Huckabee Sanders just because she mentioned Griffin’s name during Wednesday press briefing while responding to questions surrounding ‘Roseanne’ cancellation.
“Where was the apology for Kathy Griffin going on a profane rant against the president on ‘The View’ after a photo showed her holding president Trump’s decapitated head?”
That provoked Griffin to respond, as usual going on a profanity-laced tirade against Sanders.
“Bitch, do not come for me. I did not call you. And for fucks sake, take a cold reading class, maybe you won’t stumble so much, Griffin wrote in a tweet containing a snippet of the briefing that mentioned her.
Amid Samantha Bee’s controversy, Kathy Griffin was among the first to back Bee, first urging her not to apologize and then commenting on the situation after she did.
